شهد المقر الرئيس للبنك المركزي اليمني في العاصمة عدن، الخميس، انعقاد اجتماع انتخابي موسّع لاختيار هيئة إدارية جديدة لجمعية البنوك اليمنية، بحضور ممثلين عن جميع البنوك العاملة تحت إشراف البنك المركزي اليمني المركز الرئيس بالعاصمة عدن، وبمتابعة واشراف من وزارة الشؤون الاجتماعية والعمل.
وفي مستهل الاجتماع، نقل وكيل وزارة الشؤون الاجتماعية والعمل، صالح محمود أبو سهيل، تحيات ومباركة الوزير د. محمد سعيد الزعوري، مشيدًا بخطوة تصحيح مسار الجمعية وتفعيل عملها من العاصمة المؤقتة عدن، في إطار دعم استقرار القطاع المصرفي.
وأكد أبو سهيل استعداد الوزارة الكامل لدعم الهيئة الإدارية المنتخبة بما يسهم في استعادة الثقة بالعملة الوطنية ومواجهة التحديات الاقتصادية الراهنة.
من جهته، ثمّن وكيل البنك المركزي اليمني لقطاع الرقابة على البنوك، منصور عبد الكريم راجح، الدور المحوري الذي تضطلع به الجمعية في تمثيل البنوك المحلية داخليا وخارجيا، مؤكداً أن تمركز نشاطها في عدن سيمكن البنك المركزي من تعزيز الرقابة الفاعلة على العمليات المصرفية. وعبّر في ختام كلمته عن تقديره للمشاركين في الاجتماع الانتخابي.
هذا وأسفرت عملية الاقتراع عن اختيار هيئة إدارية جديدة مكوّنة من أحد عشر عضوا، إلى جانب لجنة رقابة وتفتيش تضم ثلاثة أعضاء، حيث فاز د. أحمد علي بن سنكر، المدير العام للبنك الأهلي اليمني، بمنصب رئيس الهيئة الادارية للجمعية.

The main headquarters of the Central Bank of Yemen in the capital, Aden, witnessed this morning the convening of an expanded electoral meeting to elect a new administrative board for the Yemeni Banks Association. The meeting was attended by representatives from all banks operating under the supervision of the Central Bank of Yemen’s main office in Aden, with oversight and follow-up by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Saleh Mahmoud Abu Suhail, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, conveyed greetings and congratulations from His Excellency the Minister, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zaouri. He praised the initiative to realign the association’s direction and reactivate its operations from the interim capital, Aden, as part of efforts to support the stability of the banking sector.
Abu Suhail affirmed the Ministry’s full readiness to support the newly elected administrative board in a way that contributes to restoring confidence in the national currency and confronting current economic challenges.
For his part, Mr. Mansour Abdulkarim Rajeh, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen for Banking Supervision, commended the vital role the association plays in representing local banks both domestically and internationally. He emphasized that centering its activities in Aden would enable the Central Bank to enhance effective oversight of banking operations. He concluded by expressing his appreciation to all participants in the electoral meeting.
Mr. Mohammed Ali Al-Somati, Director General of Associations at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, highlighted the importance of having a professional banking association operating from Aden, aimed at protecting the interests and rights of its members and working to develop all aspects of banking operations. After the general assembly approved the minutes of the previous meeting, he outlined the rules and guidelines governing the election process and the procedures for forming the new executive bodies of the association.
As a result of the voting process, a new administrative board was elected, consisting of eleven members, along with an Audit and Inspection Committee comprising three members.
Dr. Ahmed Ali bin Sanker, General Manager of the National Bank of Yemen, was elected as Chairman of the Administrative Board of the Association.
Hashed Al-Hamdani – CEO of the Agricultural Credit Bank – was elected as Secretary-General.
Abdulsalam Abdulhafidh Al-Wardi – CEO of Al-Kutbi Bank – was elected as Financial Manager.
Amr Mohammed Mahyoub – Head of Business Sector at Al-Kuraimi Bank – was assigned as the Association’s Registrar and Branch Affairs Coordinator.
Basheer Sultan, representing Tadhamon Islamic Bank – was appointed as Technical Affairs Officer.
Hussein Al-Sari – Deputy General Manager of Aden First Bank – was assigned as Officer of Culture and Public Relations.
Mohammed Abdulwali, representing Saba Islamic Bank – was appointed as Professional Evaluation and Member Rights Officer.
In addition, four other members were selected from various participating banks.
The attendees also agreed to redraft the Association’s bylaws and submit them to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor for approval. Furthermore, the meeting approved the opening of an official headquarters for the Association in Aden, the expansion of its membership to include new banks, and cooperation with the Central Bank in shaping monetary policies that serve the national economy.
This step comes as part of ongoing efforts to restructure the banking sector and enhance financial governance, contributing to economic stability, improving the performance of the Yemeni banking system, and aligning with the ongoing process of relocating banks to Aden.

كما استعرض مدير عام الجمعيات في وزارة الشؤون الاجتماعية والعمل محمد علي الصماتي أهمية وجود جمعية مهنية للبنوك تماري نشاطها من عدن وتهدف الى حماية مصالح وحقوق اعضاءها وتسعى الى تطوير كل مايتعلق بالعمل المصرفي وبعد اقرار ماتم في المحضر السابق من قبل الجمعية العمومية او ضح الضوابط والارشادات المنظمة لعملية الانتخاب، واجراءات تشكيل الهيئات التنفيذية الجديدة للجمعية.

واتفق المجتمعون على إعادة صياغة مشروع النظام الأساسي للجمعية، وتقديمه إلى وزارة الشؤون الاجتماعية والعمل للمصادقة عليه.
كما أقرّ الاجتماع فتح مقر رسمي للجمعية في العاصمة عدن، وتوسيع عضويتها لتشمل البنوك الجديدة، والعمل المشترك مع البنك المركزي في صياغة السياسات النقدية بما يخدم الاقتصاد الوطني.
تأتي هذه الخطوة في إطار جهود إعادة هيكلة القطاع المصرفي وتعزيز الحوكمة المالية، بما يسهم في دعم الاستقرار الاقتصادي وتحسين أداء النظام المصرفي اليمني وانسجاما مع اجراءات نقل البنوك. الى العاصمة عدن.
